How to Fill Your Job Board With Relevant Jobs Using AI Job Backfill?
Quick answer: To fill your job board with jobs, go to Jobs Aggregation > AI Job Backfill, describe the jobs you want in plain words (for example, "Software engineering jobs"), and click Generate Setup. Review the filters AI creates, set an Active jobs limit, and click Create. Matching jobs, along with their employers, are imported from more than 200,000 employer career sites and ATSs, and new ones keep arriving on every refresh.
How AI Job Backfill Works
When you launch a new job board, one of the first things to do is fill it with jobs.
AI Job Backfill is the fastest way to populate your job board with relevant jobs in your niche. It sources jobs from more than 200,000 employer career sites and applicant tracking systems (ATSs).
You don't need to know where the jobs are posted or how to build search filters. You describe the jobs you want, and AI turns your description into filters: the job titles to include, words to exclude, locations and companies. You review them, and the backfill imports matching jobs.
Each backfill then runs on a schedule. Every refresh looks for new jobs posted since the last run, so your board stays fresh without importing the same jobs again.
Imported jobs come with their employers and their full, formatted descriptions, and they appear on your job board like any other job. When a candidate clicks Apply for this job, they're sent to the original job posting on the employer's site.
Step 1: Open AI Job Backfill
Navigate to Dashboard > Jobs Aggregation > AI Job Backfill, or open it directly here.

If you already have a backfill, click Add Backfill Import to create a new one.
Step 2: Describe the Jobs You Want
In Describe the jobs you want to import, write the roles, location or industry in plain words, for example "Software engineering jobs".

Click Generate Setup. AI builds your search filters. This usually takes about 20 seconds.

Step 3: Review the Job Matching Filters
When the setup is ready, you'll see Review Import Setup with the filters AI generated. Review or adjust them before you start the import.
Include Keywords are the job titles to look for. A job that contains any of these terms is imported. For "Software engineering jobs", AI suggested titles like Software Engineer, Software Developer, Backend Developer and Full Stack Developer. Click × to remove one, or type a new one and press Enter.

Exclude Keywords skip jobs that contain these terms. Type a word and press Enter. Here, "Intern" leaves out internships.

Remote Preferences chooses which jobs to import: Any jobs, Remote only or On-site only.

Locations limits the import to the places you choose. Start typing, then select a location from the dropdown, for example United States.

Companies pulls jobs only from the employers you name. Type the company name and press Enter. Leave it empty to import jobs from every company.

Tip: Leave Companies empty unless you only want jobs from specific employers. Every company you add narrows the import, so you may get far fewer jobs.
Step 4: Set the Import Rules
Active jobs limit is the most jobs this backfill keeps live on your board at once. When the limit is reached, no new jobs are imported until existing ones become inactive. Here, it's set to 20.

Skip duplicate jobs is on by default and keeps your board free of repeats. A job is a duplicate when its title, company, location and apply link all match a job already on your board. The newer copy is skipped. This works across all your aggregators and backfills.

Note: Duplicate jobs are skipped during import, but processing them may still use credits.
The remaining settings are optional:
Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
Monthly import limit | The most jobs this backfill can retrieve per month |
Refresh | How often it checks for new jobs: Every hour, Every 24 hours or Every 7 days |
Imported job status | Confirmed makes imported jobs visible right away. Needs Confirmation lets you approve them first |
Block search indexing | Keeps jobs from this backfill out of search engine results |
UTM source, under Additional Settings (optional), adds a utm_source tag to every apply link of this backfill's jobs. Employers can then see the visitors you send them in tools like Google Analytics. Just enter your job board's name, for example demo_job_board.

Step 5: Click Create
Click Create. The backfill is saved, and you'll see Backfill created successfully.

The backfill starts importing right away.
Step 6: See Your Imported Jobs
Go back to AI Job Backfill. Each backfill shows how many jobs it imported and when the next run is scheduled.

The jobs are live on your job board right away, with the company logo and location.

Each job comes with its full description, with headings, lists and paragraphs neatly formatted for job seekers.

When a candidate clicks Apply for this job, they're sent straight to the original job posting on the employer's site to apply.

In your dashboard, imported jobs also appear in Jobs, marked Imported by aggregator. Backfill adds each job's employer to Employers. If an employer with the same name is already on your board, the job is simply added under that employer, so you don't get duplicate employers.
Want More Keywords? Create a New Backfill
Each refresh only looks for jobs posted since the last run. If you add keywords to an existing backfill, it won't go back for older jobs that match them.
To widen your search, click Add Backfill Import and create a new backfill with the new keywords instead. A new backfill starts fresh, so it can pull in past jobs too.

Tip: Use one backfill per niche or audience, for example one for software engineering jobs and one for data jobs. It's easier to see what each one imports and to adjust its limits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why didn't my backfill import older jobs after I added new keywords?
Each refresh only looks for jobs posted since the last run. To get past jobs for new keywords, create a new backfill.
Why did my backfill stop importing new jobs?
It has probably reached its Active jobs limit or Monthly import limit. When the active jobs limit is reached, new jobs are imported again once existing ones become inactive.
Will backfill add the same job twice?
Not when Skip duplicate jobs is on. A job with the same title, company, location and apply link as one already on your board is skipped, across all your aggregators and backfills.
Can I approve imported jobs before they go live?
Yes. Set Imported job status to Needs Confirmation, and imported jobs stay hidden until you approve them.
Does backfill create a new employer for every job?
No. If an employer with the same name already exists on your board, the job is added under it. A new employer is only created when there's no match.
