XML importer helps automatically import jobs from XML feeds directly into your job board. It can be used to import jobs from other job boards, employers' applicant tracking systems (job wrapping), or from job advertising networks like Appcast.

To create an importer, you just need to provide a link to the XML file that contains the jobs list and it will automatically import new jobs from the given link into your job board.

Here are detailed steps on how to configure the XML importer properly.

Step 1: Open the Add New XML Jobs Importer Page

Step 1.1: Open the "Auto Import Jobs" page

Click on the "Auto import Jobs" section and click on the "New Auto Import" button.

Step 1.2: Select XML feed importer

Click on the "XML Feed Importer" button.

Step 2: Enter the XML Feed URL from Which You Would like to Import the Jobs

Enter the URL of the XML feed from which you would like to import the jobs and click on "Start configuring XML importer" button.

How to Connect A Custom Domain?

Your job board will work by default under the subdomain name that you entered during the registration(eg. your-domain.myjboard.io), but in general, we recommend connecting your custom domain name to the job board to set your own branding. If you do not have your domain name yet, you can purchase it from Godaddy.com

Many people use a subdomain like jobs.yourdomain.com but you can also use www.yourdomain.com.

Now once you have your domain name ready, follow these steps to connect your custom domain.

Step 1: Go to your job board settings page

Log in to app.jboard.io dashboard and click open the job board settings page.

Step 2: Enter your custom domain

Enter your domain name into the 'Job Board Domain' field

Step 3: Update your domain's DNS settings

Now you need to point your domain to jBoard's server. To do this first you need to sign in to your domain registrar(domain registrar is the website where you bought your domain, for example GoDaddy, Hover, NameCheap, etc…).

Once you signed in, go to your domain's DNS settings page add the following to your DNS settings.

Why Web Page Jobs Importer Did Not Import Any Jobs?

If you configured your web importer and after 24 hours you still do not see any jobs imported, there might be something wrong with the configuration of the importer, or the provided job board is not supported by the importer.

Here are the most common cases that you can check against to make sure there is nothing wrong with the configuration.

1. Is the provided URL supported by the web importer?

In order for web importer to be able to import jobs from the provided job board URL, the provided job board needs to have JobPosting structured data inside job posting pages. If there is no JobPosting data, the importer will not be able to detect and so import jobs from the given URL.

2. Is the provided URL shows a jobs list that you want to import?

Make sure that the provided URL is publicly accessible and shows the job list that you would like to import into your job board. Because the web importer can import only jobs that are displayed on the provided page when it opens the "Jobs web page URL" page.

So for example, if I want to import only Engineering jobs from the https://jobs.lever.co/kraken job board, I will need to filter the Engineering jobs first and only after copy/paste the URL of the page into the web importer.
